Operating Procedure: HS-1-006 – Optional Attendance / Cross Boundary Students

Preamble

Students residing outside of the respective school boards designated school boundary are not eligible for transportation services.

Implementation

Notwithstanding Operating Procedure HS-1-002 – Transportation Eligibility, parents/guardians of out of boundary students (optional attendance/cross boundary) may apply to use school transportation services as outlined below:

When a student’s primary address is located outside the board designated school boundary, the parent or guardian may apply for a courtesy seat, in accordance with Operating Procedure HS-1-004 – Courtesy Seats.

No student residing outside of the board designated school boundary will be picked up or dropped off at an address outside of the board designated school boundary.

When a student’s primary address is located outside of the board designated school boundary, but his/her daycare providers address falls within the transported boundary of the board designated school boundary, the parent or guardian may apply for a courtesy seat for their child to travel between the school and the daycare provider, in accordance with Operating Procedure HS-1-004 – Courtesy Seats.
