Important Service Update – Return to in-class learning on Monday, January 17

Transportation services will resume for all in-person students on Monday, January 17, 2022.

With the full return of all bus routes, HSTS may encounter a higher than normal rate of absences for bus drivers due to COVID-19 and the Omicron variant.

Parents, students, and school communities need to be aware that it may be necessary to cancel bus routes on a temporary basis if we experience high rates of driver absences.

The cancellation of a bus route is a last resort for HSTS.  Therefore, it is important that parents and students are monitoring the HSTS website daily and checking the “Delays” page to monitor the status of their bus route.

It is also important that parents understand their morning and afternoon route numbers.  In many cases students travel to school in the morning on a specified route with a specific driver, however they may travel home in the afternoon on a different route with a different driver.  Therefore, it is possible that only their morning route could be canceled or only their afternoon route could be canceled. There may also be a need to request families to pick up students if there are additional route cancellations during the course of the school day.  You will be notified by your child’s school if this is the case.

We encourage all parents and students to create a parent portal account and sign up to receive our automatic transportation alerts (instructions).  These alerts will include late bus route information and canceled route notifications.
