Halton Student Transportation Services
Halton Student Transportation Services officially opened on January 7, 2008; the membership is comprised of the four publicly funded school Boards in the Region of Halton.
The member school boards are:
- The Halton District School Board,
- The Halton Catholic District School Board,
- Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud,
- Conseil scolaire Viamonde
Halton Student Transportation Services currently transports over 28,000 students on 425 buses, mini buses, vans and wheelchair accessible vehicles daily at a cost of over $18,000,000 per year. Continuous monitoring, updating and optimizing of routes has resulted in a transportation system that is efficient and cost effective.
In addition, the Consortium has implemented a safety program which includes interactive rider safety training programs for all pupils in grades JK to 8 in all elementary schools that we serve.
We are also monitoring service levels and measuring them against a number of key service indicators in order to ensure that service is maintained at a high level for all students.
